Welcome to my site. Here you will find some of the characters created by Quebecois actor Roy Dupuis. I have deliberately chosen to deal only with Roy’s characters, and not with other aspects of his life, for I believe that the essence of an actor is the life he gives to the people he portrays. It is there that the whole of his contribution and his legacy to humankind resides. An actor is, at one in the same time, both the message and the messenger, the music and the instrument, and so the authenticity of the work is measured by the talent and generosity invested in it by the artisan. Roy Dupuis is an artiste who gives his best in whatever he does. Without a doubt in the beginning he had a gift for acting and his training at the National Theatre School refined this raw talent, but it’s the sum total of the forces with which he nourishes his characters that gives them their depth and subtlety. He lends them his own body and soul, his instinct and intelligence, all the light and shade that they need to come to life. That is how all of them are born, those characters of stage and screen..

The following pages are an invitation to discover these men conceived in the imagination of many writers and brought into the world by the skill and generosity of an actor born on French soil in the American continent, a place abounding in talented artistes. Roy is the worthy son of a land rich in the traditions of old Europe and the spontaneous passion of the New World.
