What brought Michael and Nikita together had developed slowly. The writers were and are still very careful in delivering the momentum of their passion, it is in extremely small dosage.

To stir up desire is a good way to keep the flame burning. Because if Michael and Nikita were living together, sharing the same bed, the same daily life, their story would soon fall into a dull routine. So it is preferable that they live apart most of the time, although having a parallel jobs, sometimes being forced to live both a professional and love situation with strangers, while afraid to hurt one another. There many pitfalls on the road of their passion... Their love affair was not easy and mostly because of Michael. To reach his goal, he has many times manipulated Nikita's feelings and often he got caught at his own game. Not so much at the beginning of the series, but in the second half, Nikita had touched his heart. Then he became vulnerable. He admits it in Mandatory Refusal ( season 2): " I can't allow you to become my weakness". War is also witnessing his involment in the last scene, what Americans call tag ( in opposition to teaser: the opening) believing Nikita is asleep, he will admit that he is in love with her. Dressed up in white, without his black suit of armor, showing his presence and his strength, Michael will sigh at Nikita, that everything he told her were not lies (" It wasn't all a lie...") In fact she was so important for him even more that he taught (" I don't know what love is anymore, but the only part of me that's not dead, is you").

He kissed her tenderly; with this gesture he went up one notch on my score board. It was a beautiful scene of pure love and honesty. Section One sets are always dark, but the infirmary's room all painted in white...with Michael and Nikita wearing also white clothes...A moment of purity...A reference to the White Room. Everything becomes white when it is time to confess, either when under pressure or freely murmured during a passionate impetus...

The first season ends with Nikita disappearance. Michael can not take it, although he has never confess his feelings to her. Now, since she is away, he knows how much he loves her.

When the second season starts, Michael will find her and will share a night with her. Another great scene where the two lovers are together, close to each other, completely vulnerable, body and soul, naked.

She will admit, that being free for a few months was finally most disappointing. He will caress her shoulder and will feel her presence entirely impregnated in him...Nikita will be disturb and unsettled, Michael adding: " You bought me back...I never realized how much I need you". They are both indecisive.

Then shows up Jurgen, the one who makes things happen. An inevitable and essential character. He has a different look in his eyes, always searching...a look that will disturb Nikita, a blond-green look in his eyes. Michael will then be on alert, watching the intruder. Jurgen flirts with Nikita, Michael becomes jealous again. The intruder will then vanish, giving lovers more peaceful moments.
