The third season will start almost like the second one, that is with four episodes and a trio. This time, it is the triangle: Michael, Nikita and Elena, making allusion to the other one: Michael, Nikita and Jurgen. With Nikita we will discover that Michael is married and has a son. Another obstacle to their relationship and this time, it is a serious one. Michael is a good and loving husband and he seems pretty much attached to his wife and child. ![]() Nikita tries to understand. The events will have a climax. Michael's mission terminates with his father-in-law death. He will lose his son, his loving wife and his mind. But only momentarily. The episode showing Michael's fall is one of the best of the series. At last, Roy had enough room to operate. With nonchalant gesture, a lost horizon in his eyes, nerves that are cracking...his extreme state of nervousness during a mission while Operation is watching... Nikita will take his place in order to give him a break. But the way Roy will render Michael's weakness and disgust is done to perfection. Like Phoenix, he will reborn from his ashes, heart and soul. Functional again, he will be dangerous to the authortiy. Michael and Nikita must be watched and you can feel that their mutual attraction is active again. Michael will take comfort in Nikita's arms. Both of them knowing the danger, Michael will take advantage of the situation and Nikita will benefit from it. The third season concludes, as usual, by the separation of the lovers. This time it will happen by the technological and chemical doings of their own organization. Nikita's mind is being changed that her love for Michael is apparently dead. |
Fourth season. With his proverbial energy, brain and perseverance, Michael will spend four episodes in conquering his girlfriend back...and because he is the best, he will succeed, but not easily. Nikita has changed. The roles became different, now Michael is putting on the pressure by being closer to her. In one of the first scenes of Man in the ![]() Middle, Nikita leaning against a brick wall and Michael facing her, he will embrace her totally, mind and body. In another scene from Sympathy for the Devil, he will pursue her, whispering: " We have more time..." his eyes are half closed and his lips searching hers. Now Nikita is changing, perhaps she is finding out that their love is not as much important as it was for her anymore. But we can't be sure of that. And as the story makes us often revolve at a 180 degrees, anything could happen. The only criticism that I could address this couple is that their passionate love affair is certainly conducted in a restrained manner. Love must be expressed more freely, without restriction. I find that it makes it more difficult for us, the viewers, and if I say us, it is because I know for a fact that many viewers are sharing my opinion. We all wished that they should have been in love more deeply. I understand that this is due to the directors' choice, but I do not think that this choice was always the right one. That left us to often unappeased and I am honest in admitting it. ![]() In American TV series, why can protagonists are able to kill a dozen of people an hour without being remorseful but lovers can only make love with an out focus camera in an almost dark room ? Is it a crime to light up a flame than see blood run so that justice is done? You can pick up your choice but as far as I am concerned, I'd rather witness a healthy expression of a normal desire than watch a brutal satisfaction of some predatory instincts. |
