Michael is a main character because he bears with him so much hope and dreams, that I felt like a spell on me that forced me back to the keyboard. What you have read previously was written in the Spring of 2000 at the time when the fourth Season of LFN was coming to an end and was supposed to be the last one. The broadcast was about the third of the way in the States as well as in Canada. So we were all trying to figure out how the whole thing would be ending. THE FOURTH SEASON I will continue the story exactly where I have left it last year. So after getting Nikita back to him, Michael will spend 18 episodes to try to get back her love. He can not ignore the strong feeling that he has now for her but Nikita does not seem to follow him. Something is separating them and her hesitation continues to go on. So Michael will reveals himself on two different fronts but always in his usual soft and subtle way. A wide open approach His body will translate the way he is thinking. I specially recall the scene when Michael walks through Section One, in Kiss the Past Goodbye episode. He his flamboyant regardless of his antagonism. Michael is an expert at playing both positive and negative in an alternate manner. Michael knows how to keep cool under pressure. Again, it was a beautiful scene in a slow motion. Michael has a terrifying look in his eyes when he passes by the Agent who has taken his own place near his wife and son. Not only his eyes, but his entire presence the way he is walking, every movements of his body, show the power of pride and the deep agony that is going through him. We can see easily that is fighting against a terrible pain. Once again, his presence is remarkable. He knows how to express himself with his gesture, any time and in any places. Take as an example the scene in Kiss
the Past Goodbye when Michael is worried for his family,
so he goes to see his wife in the middle of the night. Of course,
he must be most careful, as they believe that he is dead. Walking
with him along the wall, his own shadow makes us believe that
he doubles up His attitude will be quite different, when
he will go back to the house, near the end of this episode. ![]() He has the gesture of a genuine hero. Being
so accurate when he has to destroy several enemies in a simple
movement : knocking down a camera ![]() |
Another
weapon : A tremendous source of power for Michael, which I believe he is able to use with such a refined technique. In the Fourth Season, he, for sure, will use it to perfection. Roy will manage to show the changing mood through his eyes, and apparently without any movements. I believe that is accomplished as the camera will focus a long time on his eyes. We must keep our eyes in his own eyes to appreciate the changing mood. We find many examples in the last two episodes. Ill talk about it later on, but there are lots of them. A first sample : The
look mixed with multiple emotions.(Sympathy for the Devil). A second example : the questioning look. (Man in the Middle) Sitting in his car, Michael is witnessing an operation which turns out to be a real foul up. He is watching, his eyes immobile, sometimes switching from blue to green. He is wearing gloves and put the back of his hand on his mouth. Combined with the look in his eyes, it sure makes a beautiful scene that explains all his questioning. A failure, why and how...
A third example : His look in action. (Sympathy for the Devil). Nikita is alone with Michael during an intimate moment. He is kissing her, caressing her face with the back of his hand. You can see in his eyes all his love and tenderness for her. His eyes are rocking her. He speaks to her softly. But, remember, Michael is always soft spoken. Even if he is in a raging mood. Because of the color of his eyes, they will bring comfort, and a warm light accentuated by his soft and tender smile. No pain can resist with this balmy lotion.
A Fourth example : A
look that speaks for itself (Sleeping
with the Ennemy) At one point, Michael seems to have betrayed
Section One when giving the enemy a code. Nikita who has witnessed
the scene, asks him why he did that. Michaels answer will
only be in the look of his eyes. Looking at her intensively,
he will try to give her the answer, without saying a word and
without a gesture or any kind of facial expression, just by going
inside her eyes. And this look is so strong that I believe that
she got her answer. ![]() It is in the fourth Season, that there were so many scenes where Michael has used his powerful looks. Those were all silent moments and his eyes only have spoken to us.
