Guess Indeed to begin from scratch.
Thursday night we gathered for dinner at Pacini's. Dinner
Thursday night
is always like a family reunion. Everyone shares their travel
experience.
Early Friday afternoon we meet a Technicolor for a private
screening of
Shake Hands With The Devil. It's a really amazing film. Surge
always
takes really good care of us.
From the film we went to Momental National Theater for dinner
and
reception with Roy. It's the same location where Royettes
dedicated a
chair to Roy. There were three tables and catered dinner. As
usual the
food was good and plentiful. Roy looked great, healthy and was
in good
spirits. He is so busy. He had just the day before returned from
Paris,
worked that morning, had a business lunch, dinner with us, live
media
interviews about soirée, participated in the entertainment, and
stayed
the entire evening. Each table spent an equal amount of time
with Roy
taking photos, signing the photo provided by RF and discussing
many
topics. The goodie bag included, special labeled sweets, a
luggage tag,
a fleece muffler with the RF logo, and a very special photo
taken by
Michel on the Truffle set. Roy's hair is trimmed short but not
military
short, slightly frosted. He ware his favorite blue plaid shirt,
relaxed
fit jeans, a dark brown nappy sweater, leather jacket and
something new
Trekkers. When Roy left for the media coverage we all gather for
a group
photo facing the windows looking out on the street. Sure enough
Michel
and Roy walked by walked by stopping long enough to make faces
at us. It
was something like being at the zoo. Who is the observer and who
is
being observed?
We walked across the street to Club Soda. It's an old theater
now used
for live entertainment. Perfect for soirée. The entertainment
was super,
Raoul Duguay was really good. Sorry he upstaged Roy who did a
reading
accompanied by guitar. Numbered pumes were sold which
corresponded to a prize. Good prizes. Roy auctioned his personal
item a recently earned
award from the Halifax Film Festival for SHWTD. A very generous
person
paid an amazing 20.000.00CA. When Roy walked on stage he had the
giggles. Turned out he couldn't remember the English word
AUCTION.
When did remember he repeated it twice. It
was really cute. At the end Roy
made his way around to all our tables to share thank yous,
goodbyes and
a few last photos. It was a great event.
Soirée weekend wouldn't be complete without Saturday night
dinner. We
met at Mars and Venus but were over taken by the hockey game and
fans.
It's time for a very special thank you to Maxine, Michel and Rf
for
another prefect event.
I have a photo of the Trekkers but it needs to be resized again
before I
can post it. Soon I hope.
