Inc., a subsidiary of FRV Media Inc. Following the spectacular success of
Seraphin, "Un homme et son peche" (over $8 million in box-office
receipts), Lorraine Richard and Luc Martineau will produce this adaptation of
"Souvenirs de Monica," a biography by
Georges-Hebert Germain.
Sylvain Guy (Liste noire) wrote the screenplay for "Monica la mitraille," which will be directed by Pierre Houle (Omerta, several episodes of the Scoop series). Scheduled for release in May 2004, the movie will be distributed by Alliance Atlantis Vivafilm.
"Monica la mitraille" recounts the stormy life of legendary Montreal bank robber Monique Sparvieri, a.k.a. Monica la mitraille, by taking a look at the men who influenced her life: her father, husband and lovers. The all-star cast includes Celine Bonnier in the title role, Marc Labreche, Ron Lea, Patrick Huard, Roy Dupuis and Remy Girard.
